Ganderbal 10 Sep (KNZ):Much to the inconvenience of the commuters caused by the frequent traffic jams, the authorities have geared up the work of vital bridge over nallah Sindh near Wayil in Ganderbal district.

Executive Engineer R&B Ganderbal Tatheer Manzoor along with AEE Ganderbal today inspected work progress on bailey bridge constructed over Sindh at Wayil Ganderbal

AEE Ganderbal briefed the Executive Engineer R&B about the design and completion of work on the bridge.

According to locals tourists use this bridge to visit several famous tourist and pilgrim destinations including Sonamarg, Naranag and Amarnath shrine situated in different areas of the district.

They said that the Bailey bridge is so narrow that a pedestrian has to return if a heavy vehicle is crossing it.

Executive Engineer R&B Tatheer Manzoor talking to Kashmir News Zone-KNZ said that the two lane bridge is approved at the cost of Rs 22 crore funded by World Bank.

He said that the span of the bridge is 110 meters and width is 10.50 meters besides, length of approach roads is 330 meters.

He also said the bailey bridge wayil will open for traffic ending this year

He further said,due to shortage of material the work of bailey bridge was going slowly and i assured the bridge will open ending this year 2022.KNZ
