Anantnag; 10 Sep:Anantnag police continuing its war against the Drug menace arrested two drug peddlers and recovered huge consignment of narcotic substance.
Police Station Srigufwara received a specific information through reliable sources that one Javid Ahmad Bhat S/O Gh Mohi-ud-din Bhat resident of Sirhama Srigufwara has indulged in peddling of narcotic substances and accordingly has hoarded a large quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house.
Accordingly a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act got registered in police station Srigufwara and investigation taken up. On receipt of this information, a search team compromising of Anantnag Police and Executive Magistrate concerned was constituted, who carried out the search of the said house.
During search about 6.2 Kgs of Bung Boosa was recovered from the said residential house accused was arrested and contraband seized. Further investigation in the instant case continues.
Moreover another police party from Police Post Janglatmandi laid down a Naka at Ashajipora Bridge, police party intercepted one suspicious person namely Hashim Mushtaq Bhat S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat resident of Dabruna Anantnag and recovered about 800 grams of Bung Bosa from his possession. Accused was arrested and contraband seized.
Anantnag Police once again appeals the people of the District to come forward with the information regarding drug peddlers so that curative steps can be taken against them.
