Srinagar, 18th March, CNS: In order to stop the spread of coronavirus, Municipal Council Hajin, in Bandipora district on Wednesday, sprayed disinfectants in the lanes, by lanes, hospitals, bus stands, banks, government offices and other crowded places in Hajin town.

The drive according to CNS was conducted under the supervision of Chairman Municipal Council Hajin Dr. Irshad, who was accompanied by Executive Officer Firdous Ahmed, SDPO Hajin Mubbashir Ahmed, and Tehsildar Hajin Naveed Ahmed, besides other councilors.

During the drive, all the hospital, police station and posts, mosques, shrines and the wards of the block were sprayed with disinfectants.

Also an awareness drive was conducted throughout the block, through public address the system, with officials of the council, updating people about the measures necessary for the prevention of the spread of coronavirus.

Meanwhile Chairman Council Dr, Irshad told CNS that the Council is taking all the measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the block.

He said meetings of the councils are being conducted on regular basis to take the stock of the status of preparedness to stop the spread of coronavirus and all the necessary preventive steps are being taken to aware the people about keeping themselves safe from the infection.

He said, “A control room has been set in Hajin Hospital and our officials are working on ground, day and night to ensure that the virus does not spread to the block.”

“We will continue our awareness drive relentlessly so will our disinfection programme”, he added.  (CNS)
