Case tally at 148,208, Death toll reaches 2,063, active cases increase to 12,164, recovery rate decreases to 90.40

Srinagar, Apr 19 (KNO): The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to show a spurt as 1,516 fresh positive cases were reported on Monday pushing the number of active cases to 12,164 which otherwise were less than 600 around a month before.

Six more deaths were reported in J&K in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 2,063 and active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 1,516 fresh positive cases reported on Monday pushed the tally of positive cases to 148,208

Of the exact number of 148,208 cases, 88,856 are from Kashmir and 59,352 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 1,516 new cases, 748 belong to Kashmir division while as 768 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 88,856 including 80,208 recoveries and 1,297 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 59,352 including 53,773 recoveries and 766 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 12,164 including 7,351 from Kashmir division and 4,813 from Jammu division.

With 813 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 133,981 which is 90.40 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 383 from Srinagar, 110 from Baramulla, 46 from Budgam, 29 from Pulwama, 36 from Kupwara, 48 from Anantnag, 14 from Bandipora, 31 from Ganderbal, 47 from Kulgam and 04 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 768 from Jammu division include 451 from Jammu, 81 from Udhampur, 34 from Rajouri, 08 from Doda, 38 from Kathua, 33 from Samba, 04 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 13 from Ramban and 102 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 35,073 positive cases including 487 deaths and 30,435 recoveries are from Srinagar, 10,571 including 184 deaths and 9,308 recoveries are from Baramulla, 9,024 including 8,418 recoveries and 123 deaths are from Budgam, 6,380 including 5,968 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Pulwama, 6,190 including 99 deaths and 5,828 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,652 including 5,214 recoveries and 101 deaths are from Anantnag, 5,018 cases including 4,800 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,951 including 4,719 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ganderbal, 3,235 including 2,889 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,762 including 2,629 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 29,240 including 25,911 recoveries and 401 deaths are from Jammu district, 5,261 including 4,953 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Udhampur, 4,118 including 3,862 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,540 including 3,428 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,807 including 3,504 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 3,097 including 2,863 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Samba, 2,808 including 2,770 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,639 including 2,530 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Poonch, 2,243 including 2,158 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Ramban and 2,599 including 1,794 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,677,798 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 70,442 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 12,164 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,465,049 persons have completed surveillance period and 128,080 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,794,193 samples are available. Out of 6,794,193 the number of samples tested negative stands at 6,645,985 while as 148,208 have tested positive, among them 12,164 persons are active, 133,981 persons have recovered and 2,063 persons have died—(KNO)
