Ganderbal 07 Sep (KNZ):After a gap of 34 years,The Hindu Lord Krishna’s birthday, also known as ‘Janmashtami,’ was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm in Nunner Ganderbal on Thursday.

Temple were decorated, and a procession called ‘Shoba Yatra’ took place as part of the traditional celebrations by local Pandit devotees at Nunner and chappergund.

Devotees, including men, women and children, danced alongside the chariot and distributed sweets among people.

Prayers were offered during the night, and Muslim neighbors greeted devotees warmly, continuing the tradition of brotherhood.

The march attracted the attention of the majority community who cheered the participants and even joined the dancing troupe to send a symbolic message that Kashmiri’s are united and cannot be divided on communal lines.

On the occassion DDC Chairperson Ganderbal,DC Ganderbal,SSP Ganderbal, Chairman Municipal Council Ganderbal,ADDC Ganderbal, Additional SP and other officers were present.KNZ
