Srinagar 14 Jun (KNZ):On World Blood donor day Department of Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology in collaboration with Al-Iman Youth Foundation organised Blood donation camp at SKIMS Soura.
On the occasion hundreds of volunteers of Al-Iman Youth Foundation donated the blood.The volunteers were very enthusiastic and with high energy.
Director SKIMS Parvaiz Koul also visited the donation camp and interacted with donors
Chairman Farooq Ahmed Al-Iman Youth Foundation highlighted the importance of these camps and said that these camps are lifesaving programs and in future these camps will be held at different places across the Kashmir.
Stressed on the need creating awareness among masses regarding benefits of blood donation and said that blood donation besides saving lives of others also helps the donor live longer and in a healthier way.
The main objective of organizing the camp was to create awareness among the common masses about the misconceptions and fear regarding blood donation in the society and simultaneously disseminate message on benefits.KNZ
