GANDERBAL, MARCH 05: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today visited the village Kachpatri to inspected the progress of road leading to the unconnected village of Kangan Sub-Division from Srinagar-Sonamarg highway.

During the visit, the DC was accompanied by SDM Kangan, Hakeem Tanveer, Executive Engineer PMGSY, concerned AEE, JE and other concerned.

On the occasion, the Executive Engineer, PMGSY informed the DC road stands carved out to the village Kachpatri and was sanctioned by NRRDA under Phase 5th for a length of 10 Km at a cost of Rs 798.27 lakh besides macadamization on road shall be initiated during the current financial year and will be maintained for a period of 5 years after completion of the BT work.

Pertinently, population of Kachpatri is 2317 souls who are scattered over a vast plateau and was previously connected with the steep track due to which the people of the village were facing much difficulty in transportation of material, sending their children to the schools and other day to day needs.

Keeping in view the importance of road for villagers, the DC directed the Executive Engineer to speed up the progress of other related work developmental on the road so that this prestigious road is completed within the stipulated time.

While inspecting the progress on road, the DC complemented the PMGSY, division Ganderbal for taking up this difficult task of construction of road involving mountainous terrain.

The DC on the occasion also interacted with the villagers and congratulated them for getting road accessibility adding that all development works shall be completed in minimum possible time reiterating that district administration is committed to provide road connectivity in every nook and corner of the district especially in such mountainous villages.
