Sopore, March 03 (KS) ; Two young boys drowned in a nallah in the village of Sopore in north Kashmir on Sunday evening.

Reports reaching News Agency Kashmir Scroll said the boys, aged around 7 to 8 years, were on their way to the masjid to attend an Islamic function when they slipped into the nallah.

As soon as the news spread, people from the area rushed to the spot and began a rescue operation.

One of the boys was immediately rescued, but the search for the other boy is still ongoing reports added.

A police officer confirmed to News Agency Kashmir Scroll that a team is working to rescue the remaining boy. The boys have been identified as Areeb Bashir Mir, son of Bashir Ahmad Mir, and Sabiq Mushtaq, both residents of Mundaji. While Areeb has been rescued, efforts are being made to locate Sabiq. (KS)
