Ganderbal 10 May (KNZ):Stray dogs killed 12 sheep and 14 injured at Surfraw Kangan in Ganderbal on Tuesday wee hours.

Locals said that the dogs attacked shed in Surfraw Kangan in Ganderbal killing 12 sheep besides leaving 14 injured.

They said that a group of stray dogs barged into the shed of Mubarak Raina at Surfraw and killed 12 sheep and injured over 14 sheep.

They said that more than 50 sheep were present in the shed at the time of the attack.

Soon after the incident, a team of experts from the Sheep Husbandry Department visited the area to assess the situation and provide immediate first aid to the injured sheep.

Meanwhile, residents said that stray dogs had let loose a reign of terror while the administration was in a deep slumber.

“People, particularly women and children are scared over the growing number of dogs in the surfraw while the administration is doing nothing to check the dog population,” they said.
