Srinagar, Jan 07 (KS): Srinagar, the picturesque city in Kashmir, on Sunday experienced the harshest cold spell of the season, with temperatures plummeting to a bone-chilling minus 5.6°C.

An official from MeT told news agency Kashmir Scroll that Srinagar, the Summer Capital, shivers at -5.6°C today, slightly colder than yesterday’s -5.4°C.

The official said that Qazigund records -5.0°C today, compared to yesterday’s -4.6°C. Kokernag, he said reports -2.7°C today, with yesterday at -2.9°C.

Pahalgam, he said experiences a chilling -6.5°C today, while yesterday was -6.3°C. Kupwara, he said measures -5.3°C today, slightly down from yesterday’s -5.4°C.

Gulmarg, he said records -4.4°C today, compared to yesterday’s -4.5°C.

He predicted dry weather conditions till 14th January, saying there is no significant weather activity in Jammu and Kashmir during the period. (KS)
