Srinagar, Nov 8 (KS) : The Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized a local shop in Anantnag district, owned by an individual accused of the heinous murder of a circus worker from Udhampur.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that the District Police Anantnag took swift action in tracking down the shop owned by Umer Amin Thoker, who is believed to be involved in the killing of Deepak Kumar.

The accused shop owner has been booked under various sections including 302 IPC, 7/27, 25 A. Act 16, 18, 20, 23, 38, 39 UA (P) Act, as per FIR number 171/2023.

The distressing incident, which occurred on May 29 of this year near Janglat Mandi Anantnag, shook the entire community and sparked outrage among locals.

Deepak Kumar, the unfortunate circus worker, lost his life in a tragic event that left many questioning the safety and security of individuals in the region.

The swift action taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in seizing the shop demonstrates their commitment to delivering justice and ensuring that those responsible for such heinous crimes are held accountable the officer further added. (KS)
