Srinagar, 29 Jan: Biting cold conditions intensified in most parts of Kashmir on Friday, with Pahalgam being the coldest place in the Valley at minus 12.0 degrees Celsius.

As per Kashmir Weather, an independent weather forecaster, Srinagar city — the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir — recorded a low of minus 7.7 degrees Celsius, down from minus 5.6 degrees Celsius the previous night.

In the tourist resort of Gulmarg, the minimum temperature settled at minus 11.5 degrees Celsius compared to minus 13.4 degree Celsius the night earlier.

The night temperature in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at the low of minus 10.8, compared to previous night’s minus 10.5°C.

The minimum in Kupwara, in north Kashmir, went down from minus 2.2 degrees Celsius yesterday to settle at minus 3.0 degrees Celsius, while Kokernag town in south registered the low of minus 11.4 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Weather has forecasted that ‘cold wave to severe cold wave’ condtions are likely to continue till Sunday.
