Pulwama October 31 : Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Science and Technology Department, Saurabh Bhagat(IAS), presided over a Public Darbar and Grievance Redressal Camp held at the Administrative Complex in Pulwama. This event aimed to address the grievances and demands of the people in the District.

The event commenced with an engaging inspection of stalls set up by various government departments. These stalls showcased the commendable efforts and activities undertaken by the respective departments.The inspection of stalls was followed by an Integrity Pledge ceremony, conducted during Vigilance Week 2023, to combat corruption. Government officials and members of the public solemnly pledged to uphold probity and the rule of law.

Dr. Basharat Qayoom(IAS), Deputy Commissioner of Pulwama, provided an overview of the overall development scenario of the District highlighting the achievements of the District during the last four years.

The event witnessed the e-inauguration of important projects by Commissioner/Secretary to the Govt, including the Health & Wellness Centre at Ichgoze, a project costing 55 lakhs, and the unveiling of a double-storey building at Wakharwan, with a project cost of 52 lakhs. The foundation stone for the Water Supply Scheme at Banoora, a significant project with a cost of 4.30 crores and set to benefit a population of 6500, was also laid.

Compendium of District Pulwama and NHM evaluation report were both unveiled by the Commissioner/Secy to the Govt providing valuable insights into the District’s progress and healthcare initiatives.Various cultural programmes were held wherein students from the District presented colourful programmes showcasing the diversity and unity of the District.

The Public Darbar received an overwhelming response from all sections of society. Local residents and community members had the opportunity to interact with Commissioner/Secretary to the Govt, conveying their concerns and issues, seeking intervention for resolution and redressal.

During the Public Darbar and Grievance Redressal Camp in Pulwama, Commissioner/Secretary to the Govt, addressed the attendees and emphasized the Government’s commitment to serving the public and fostering transparency, accountability, and integrity in public service. He highlighted that this event was a platform for local residents and community members to interact directly with government officials. He assured the public that their concerns and issues would be duly taken into account by the Government.

On this auspicious day, which marks the foundation day of Progressive J&K and coincides with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday, we celebrate the remarkable developments achieved over the past four years, Commissioner/Secretary to the Govt added remarking that Pulwama district stands at the forefront across various indicators, showcasing the dedication and hard work of both the District Adminstration and the Community.

The support provided by the Government, be it in terms of funding, the formulation and implementation of the Back to Village plan, initiatives like Ayushmaan Bharat and Swachhta campaigns, and projects like PMGSY, reflects a unified approach towards progressive development. The transformation that J&K has undergone in these four years places us among the topmost regions in the country, Commissioner/Secretary to the Govt added in his address.

Commissioner/Secretary to the Govt also engaged in a substantive discussion with PRI members, which included DDC members and BDC chairpersons, seeking their valuable feedback and insights. This interaction further reinforces the government’s commitment to inclusive governance and ensuring that the voices of local representatives are heard and considered in the decision-making process.
