Baramulla October 10: In a significant move to combat the menace of drug trafficking and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have freezed and seized amount of Rs. 1.6 lacs of a drug Smuggler in Baramulla.

Baramulla Police led by SHO PS Kunzer freezed and seized cash to the tune of Rs. 1.6 lacs belonging to drug smuggler namely Mansoor Ahmad Wani @Suriya son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Kharpora Kunzer after obtaining legal sanction from competent authorities. The said amount was linked to case FIR No. 44/2023 under section 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Kunzer. The investigation proved that the said movable property in form of cash was raised/used for illicit trafficking by the said drug smuggler.

It is pertinent to mention here that Baramulla Police has attached properties worth 2.27 crores lacs of drug smugglers which includes 3 houses, 3 vehicles & cash to the tune of Rs.1.12 crores in Pattan, Kreeri, Kunzer, Nambla & Kamalkote during the current year

Moreover, SAFEM (FOP) A & NDPSA, New Delhi confirmed attachment of property (Illegal acquired property by drug smugglers) orders of Baramulla Police at in which house and vehicle was attached across the district.

Baramulla Police is committed to act tough against the drug smugglers and with regard to attachment of moveable/immovable property which has been raised/used for illicit trafficking by the drug smugglers in the district.

General people of the district are requested to come forward with the information of drug peddlers in their areas (identify will be kept confidential) in order to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of strong police public relationship.
