Ganderbal 19 June (KNZ):The Women’s of Pati Shallabugh area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday held a protest at Ganderbal against the water scarcity in their area.

The Women’s protesters were raising slogans against the Jal-Shakti department for failing to provide uninterrupted water supply to their area.

A lady protester said we are without water for the last two years and are forced to drink contaminated water. There are apprehensions of the outbreak of water-borne diseases.

Locals requested higher-ups to look into the matter at the earliest so that they can heave a sigh of relief.

Later officials from Police reached the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring them that their problem will be taken up with concerned authorities for redressal.

When KNZ News agency contacted Executive Engineer Jal Shakti department Ganderbal Er Samiullah Beigh he said that people are using drinking water supply for their kitchen gardens besides, using water boosters which leads to water scarcity at few tail end sites.KNZ
