Reacting to a recent decision to turn famous Shankaracharya trekking route in Srinagar into a concrete path, former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and vice president National Conference on Friday called it “a stupid idea”, and said that it already has a motorable road.

Taking to a social networking site twitter Omar wrote: “Whose stupid idea is this? We already have a motorable road that goes all the way up to the base of the stairs. @jandkgovernor should reverse this order, restore the trekking path & find out who was responsible for this”.

Earlier, reports suggested that the government forest department is turning a Shankaracharya trekking route in Srinagar into a concrete path.
