Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah has paid tribute to Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militants including the nephew of Moulana Masood Azhar – Usman Ibrahim and Shaukat Ahmad – killed in a gunfight in Budgam on Thursday.

He also paid tribute to LeT militants Mukhtar Khan from Budgam and Muhammad Amin from Pampore.

“The freedom fighters fought with great courage and attained the status of martyrdom in their fight against unjust occupation. The whole nation is proud of them,” a spokesperson of LeT Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued to GNS quoted Shah as saying.

He said the youth of Jammu & Kashmir “are posing as Muhammad Bin Qasim and fighting the ranks of Raja Dahir”.

“The sacrifices of our youth will not go in vain and will bring the dawn of freedom,” Shah said.

The LeT chief also condemned the damaging of property and houses of people by forces, saying, “Indian forces, through a deliberate attempt to vitiate the peace, damage the public properties so that the trust and relationship between the public and freedom fighters is damaged. This is a serious mistake on their part. The mothers and fathers who send out their sons to fight the occupation will observe imminent patience on this loss.”

Hailing people’s emotions, Mehmood Shah said their “courage, valour and bravery is as high as Himalayas”.

“Such dedication is exemplary and rare. India may harm the people though such vicious tactics but it can never break them,” he added.

Lashkar chief appealed to the international human rights organizations to play their due role vis-à-vis Kashmir. (GNS)
