Long pending demand met,Local residents thanks DC Ganderbal and Executive Engineer R&B

Ganderbal 27 Nov (KNZ):The long pending demand of the people of Chappergund and adjoining areas is finally going to be fulfilled.

Chappergund-Gutlibagh road will be repaired in coming days and the work tender was uploaded by the R&B department today.

Locals of the area said the road is in dilapidated condition from last 7 years due to which commuters were facing trouble.

This road is part of 93 MW Ganderbal power project.The road approaches to proposed water tunnel for the power project.

They said the work on the road was taken by Power Development Corporation (PDC) 7 years ago for widening and upgradation and the authorities are playing hide and seek with us.

“It is ironical that the JKPDC has failed to undertake repairs of the road.Our vehicles have been damaged due to dilapidated road,a local resident said

Sources said JKPDC department not handed over the said road to R&B department till date.

Now R&B department has uploaded tender for restoration work only and furthermore DPR from Chappergund to power cannal road via haider-maidan has been framed and forwarded to higher authorities for administrative approval

The project can be taken in hand when the formal NOC from JKPDC commincated to R&B department

Talking to Kashmir News Zone-KNZ Junior Engineer Hilal Ahmad he confirmed the work tender was uploaded and restoration work will start in coming days.

Meanwhile,locals of Chappergund and adjoining areas have thanked the DC Ganderbal and Executive Engineer R&B for taking the issue seriously.
