Srinagar: All MGNREGA Employees Association Jammu and Kashmir have decided to extend their on-going strike for five more days.

Due to non-seriousness shown by the Government or LG Administration to redress their long pending genuine demand of absorption / Regularization in RD and PR Department against the available vacant posts of the Department, all MGNREGA Employees Association has decided to extended on-going strike (Kaam Chord Hartaal) for a period of 5 days
w.e. from 22-08-2020 to 27-08-2020.

The Executive body of the association with the support of union body Jammu province/ Kashmir province and its cadres viz Social Audit Coordinators, Programme Officers, Technical Assistants, MISO’s, Gram Rozgar Sahayaks, and AAAO’s is requesting the publicity of our pen down strike in local dailies and electronic media

“We are working day and night even during this pandemic and nobody looks after us. Whenever they are in need, we go for work without thinking about families by risking our lives,” said employees adding “the LG Administration should intervene in this matter and solve our problems”

We hope that the media may also kindly approach the Lieutenant Governor Administration for projecting our legitimate demand with their response, said the employees association.

Pertinently, it is to mention that the All MGNREGA Employees Association Jammu and Kashmir had earlier also extended their strike for three days from 19th to 21st August.
