A militant was killed while three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured after militants stormed the BSF Headquarters in Humhama area of Srinagar on wee hours of Tuesday, police told R k.

Talking to R k, IGP Kashmir Range Munir Khan said, “Troops of CRPF, 53 RR, BSF and SOG have placed cordon around the building where militants are holed up.”

IGP confirmed to Rk that one militant has been killed while three BSF personnel have been injured so far in the ongoing operation.

He added that two militants have been spotted inside the BSF Headquarters.

He said, “The operation is goin-on. There is no need to panic.”

Meanwhile, a police source told R k that para-troopers have also been called-in to assist the forces.

Rk has learnt that the Srinagar airport has been shut due to the ongoing operations.

Also, an airport authority official told R k that all the flight, till 10:30 am, have been cancelled so far in view of the gunfight that is raging adjacent to the Srinagar airport.

The militant attack has also led to heavy traffic jam on the busy airport road.
