Ganderbal 7 June (KNZ):In order to generate awareness about Cyber Crimes, Ganderbal Police organised Cyber Crime Awareness Programme at Govt. Higher Secondary School Gund.

The event was organised on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Muzaffar Jan-JKPS. SHO Gund including other Police officers were present on the said occasion.

The participants included respectable citizens, youth and students of Sub Division Kangan.

All the participants present in the programme were appraised about various types of cyber threats/crimes such as identity theft, credit card fraud, data stealing, cyber stalking, Pornography, OTP frauds etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Senior Police Officers advised the participants to adopt safe browsing habits, to avoid suspicious websites while surfing the internet. They also appealed the participants to not share OTPs or Bank Account Details and Passwords. The officers also explained the ways to adopt precautionary measures while conducting Internet Banking and online transactions.

The Participants were also cautioned against accepting friend requests from unknown persons or chatting with unknown persons on social media.

Finally, the participants appreciated the efforts of Ganderbal Police for organising Cyber awareness programme and spreading awareness about various cyber crimes among the common masses. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks from both the sides.KNZ
