KARGIL MARCH 03, 2021: In order to discuss the progress achieved on the construction of Kargil Bhawan at Dwarka New Delhi, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan convened a meeting of the concerned officers of the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) at New Delhi today.

Superintending Engineer (SE), CPWD Rajesh Kumar, Executive Engineer CPWD, Subodh Kumar, Architect Dewasa Kush, AEE PWD Kargil Kacho Mumtaz Ali Khan, JE Ashwani Kunda besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, the concerned officers apprised the CEC about the design of the Kargil Bhawan and other related matters. It was informed that the necessary paper works related to land acquisition have already been completed and the land has been formally handed over to the LAHDC, Kargil by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) through an MoU.

The officers concerned further informed the CEC that the Kargil Bhawan will be comprised of 5 to 7 floors with nearly 25 rooms and 8 dormitories, VIP lounge, dining hall and kitchen, adding there will be facilities of parking, conference hall, waiting room and other necessary facilities.

The CEC urged the concerned officers of CPWD to expedite the process of construction of the Kargil Bhawan so that the foundation stone is laid at an earliest. He further said that the Lieutenant Governor Ladakh R K Mathur has agreed to lay the foundation stone of the Kargil Bhawan.  

Meanwhile, CEC Khan expressed gratitude to the UT Administration Ladakh for sanctioning of Rs 25 crores under the Special Development Package (SDP) for construction of the Kargil Bhawan at Dwarka. He also hailed the Commissioner Secretary PWD Ladakh Ajeet Kumar Sahu for seriously pursuing the construction of the Kargil Bhawan.
