16 oxygen concentrators provided by Councillor Tai Suru, Parkachik out of CDF

KARGIL FEBRUARY 08, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan in presence of the Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary and SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Choudhary handed over oxygen concentrators to PRI members of Tai Suru and Parkachik constituencies during a function held at Primary Health Center (PHC) Panikhar here today.

16 oxygen concentrators have been provided by the Councillor Tai Suru Aga Syed Abbass and Councillor Parkachik Haji Ghulam Muhammad out of their Constituency Development Fund (CDF) at a total cost of Rs 16 lacs.

Additional SP Kargil Iftikhar Talib Choudhary, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sankoo Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani ,Councillor Tai Suru Aga Syed Abbass, Councillor Parkachik Haji Ghulam Muhammad, Chief Medical Officer Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Tehsildar Tai Suru Sajjad Hussain, Executive Engineer, SVD Sankoo Shabir Hussain, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Tai Suru Dr Sajjad Hussain, CDPO Tai Suru Parveen Akhtar, PRI members including Sarpanchs and Panchs from different Panchayats from Rgyaling to Rangdum besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan expressed gratitude to the Councillor Tai Suru and Parkachik for having provided the oxygen concentrators out of their CDF while understanding the gravity of the situation thrown by the COVID-19 pandemic and also according due consideration to the proposal of the LAHDC, Kargil and the doctors keeping in view the importance of these machines for Post-Covid patients, COPD and other respiratory problems especially during winter months.

The CEC urged the BMO Tai Suru and the PRI members to ensure judicious use of the oxygen concentrators, adding that proper upkeep, utility of the machines besides maintenance of registers and patients record should also be maintained.

Reiterating the commitment of the LAHDC, Kargil towards the augmentation of health sector in the district, CEC Khan said that providing 1st class health infrastructure in the health institutions is among the top most priorities of the Council and concrete measure are being taken on this front. He said that there is no dearth of funds and projects and works as per the requirements with regard to augmentation of health infrastructure and facilities are being projected under the SDP, State Sector Budget, District Plan as well as the Central Sponsored Schemes.

The CEC assured the Councillors, PRI members and doctors that all issues related to the augmentation of healthcare infrastructure and facilities in Tai Suru Block will be considered on priority and steps for fulfillment will be taken in a phased manner.

With regard to the development of PHC Panikhar in terms of infrastructure, machinery and other necessary facilities, the CEC said that a 4X4 supervisory vehicle will be provided to the PHC out of SDF while a USG machine will be projected in the District Plan during the next financial year. He also gave on spot directions to the Executive Engineer SVD Sankoo to carry out necessary measures for blacktopping of the approach road and premises of the PHC, adding that the issue with regard to the provision of separate electricity line to the PHC will be taken up with the PDD authorities.

CEC Khan also assured that ice hockey rink at Rangdum will also be constructed subject to the availability of land while the issue with regard to the provision of water supply connection to Rangdum Gonpa besides other related demands of the people will be taken up for suitable follow up.

Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan in his address said that the LAHDC, Kargil under the able leadership of the CEC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan is making great efforts to provide all necessary facilities to the people especially those residing in rural and far off areas. He also extended his thanks to the Councillor Tai Suru and Parkachik on behalf of the Health Department for having provided the oxygen concentrators out of their CDF.

EC Chandan said that proposals for up gradation of PHC Panikhar to CHC besides repair and renovation of the existing PHC building with staff quarters in solar passive mode are in the pipeline.

DC Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary in his address congratulated the locals for having got the oxygen concentrators. He also hailed the doctors and other frontline workers for having rendered notable services in containing the COVID-19 pandemic and assured that all developmental needs and demands of the people will be taken up for suitable follow up.

Councillor Tai Suru Aga Syed Abbass, Councillor Parkachik Haji Ghulam Muhammad and BMO Tai Suru Dr Sajjad Hussain also spoke on the occasion.

Pertinently, the oxygen concentrators have been provided to NTPHCs at Parkachik and Purkichay besides Sub Centers at Tashistongday Rangdum, New Juldoo Rangdum, Tangole, Achambur, Kochik, Pursa, Nam Suru, Khawous, Choskore, Tai Suru, Kargee, Yuljuk, Gyaling and New Sub Center Damsna.
