Jammu, June 29 (KNO): Two boys drowned to death while one other is missing and the fourth one was rescued in two separate drowning incidents in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu region.

Police sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that three boys hailing from Thanamandi area of Rajouri district were returning from Jammu to Rajouri on Sunday evening when they halted at Bathera along main highway to take a bath in Ranbir water canal that supplies water of Chenab to parts of Jammu city.

” Two boys, one aged 28 and another 18, got drowned while bathing with one body was recovered on Sunday late evening while second body was recovered on Monday afternoon.” they said.

Third boy was rescued soon after the drowning by locals and is stable. Meanwhile, another incident took place in higher reaches of Behram Gala in Surankote tehsil of Poonch district.

Police officials said that two nomadic boys were grazing their goats in higher reaches when flash flood erupted in a rivulet and duo got washed away.

” One of the boy was thrown out of rivulet by strong water currents and had a narrow escape of life but other one got washed away and is still missing.” they said. Search is on to trace the second boy, they added—(KNO)
