GANDERBAL, MARCH 13: The District Administration Ganderbal today conducted a public outreach programme as part of weekly Block Diwas at the Panchayat Ghar Kijpora, Ganderbal.

The event was chaired by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani.

The outreach programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders including SDM Kangan, ACD, Executive Engineer KPDCL, Tehsildar Kangan, district officers, and DDC member Kangan, alongside civil society members, prominent citizens, and locals of Kangan sub-division.

Numerous pertinent issues were raised during the event, reflecting the community’s concerns and aspirations. These ranged from staff shortages at Kijpora Middle School, to infrastructure development needs such as the Kijpora Penzin road, branch cutting in the dumping park at Kijpora, and the development of the Kijpora playground.

Additionally, concerns were voiced regarding the desilting of the filtration plant at Kijpora, timely commissioning of the Chattergul Bala Filtration Plant, establishment of a playground at Upper Margund, pending forest rights cases, and unscheduled power cuts. The need for streamlining the issuance of Agriculture and Domicile Certificates was also highlighted.

In his address, the ADDC reiterated the program’s primary objective of fostering direct engagement with grassroots issues. He emphasized the pivotal role these outreach camps play in bringing governance to the doorstep of the public, thereby enhancing the efficiency of public service delivery.

Responding promptly to the concerns raised, particularly regarding unscheduled power cuts, the ADDC issued directives to the Executive Engineer KPDCL to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Sehri and Iftar timings in the entire Kangan area.

Furthermore, addressing the challenges pertaining to the issuance of Agriculture and Domicile Certificates, SDM Kangan assured the locals that these issues would be promptly resolved.

In parallel, the Social Welfare department, alongside other concerned departments, provided a comprehensive overview of self-employment schemes and raised awareness about the Nasha Mukt Bharat initiative.

The ADDC urged locals to engage with these departments to learn about available schemes, ensuring that benefits reach those in need.
