GANDERBAL, MARCH 13: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today convened a meeting here to discuss the modalities and arrangements for upcoming mega plantation drive across the district.

During the meeting, the DC instructed key officers including Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Sindh Forest Division; Tehsildar Ganderbal, and officials from the Floriculture department to identify suitable patches of land that could be transformed into Chinar Parks or Deodar parks.

Additionally, the DC emphasized the importance of seeking technical guidance from SKUAST Social Forestry to ensure the effective development of these areas.

All concerned departments were directed to promptly submit reports on identified land parcels to facilitate comprehensive planning for the plantation drive.

The District Floriculture Officer was specifically instructed to devise a detailed plan for plantation in collaboration with other relevant departments. Sufficient equipment and manpower will be mobilized to ensure the success of the plantation days.

Furthermore, the DC provided directives regarding the selection of plant species capable of thriving in the local climatic conditions, ensuring the sustainability of the plantation efforts.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gulzar Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Development, District Floriculture Officer, DFO Sindh Forest Division, Tehsildar Ganderbal, CEO, and other concerned stakeholders.

This proactive initiative underscores the commitment of the Ganderbal administration to environmental conservation and the enhancement of green spaces within the district.
