Provide Cooperation in eradicating drug menace, maintaining communal harmony; DGP Dr. S.P Vaid appeals to people

JAMMU November, 13[KNZ]: Director General of Police Dr. S.P Vaid who was accompanied by IGP Jammu Shri S.D.Singh Jamwal today visited Poonch and Rajouri where he inaugurated and laid foundation for Police and Public facilities, addressed police darbars and interacted with civil society.
\ The DGP first visited Poonch where he inaugurated administrative block of District Police Lines and laid foundation of Police Parade Ground. He handed over the orders of conversion to the SPO’s who have displayed exemplary performance during the duty.
Later on, he visited Rajouri where he inaugurated Police Control Room building and laid foundation of Women Police Station. After addressing the Police personnel at Darbars , DGP interacted with civil society at both the places.
At Rajouri, among others DIG, Poonch-Rajouri, Shri Deepak Kumar Slathia, DC Rajouri Shahid Iqbal and other senior officers were present during the interaction with civil society.
In his interaction with civil society at Poonch and Rajouri, DGP sought cooperation of the people in eradicating the menace of drugs from the society. He said that the demand for establishing of Drug de-addiction Centre at Rajouri will be considered favorably. The DGP sought cooperation from across the society including doctors, teachers, lawyers and social workers in eradicating menace of drug abuse.

Complementing the people of Rajouri/Poonch for maintaining communal harmony and law and order, the DGP sought their cooperation in strengthening the brotherhood.
The civil society members representing different sections brought before DGP some issues and demands for which DGP promised all possible assistance.
Addressing darbars at Poonch and Rajouri the DGP said that a major housing plan has been approved by the government to address the housing problems of JK Police personnel and added that the ground work for implementing the project has begun and accomadations will be constructed in Srinagar and Jammu under the plan. He said that number of welfare scheme including promotion of Police personnel and ex-gratia in favour of Police martyrs have been taken and added more welfare proposals have been submitted to the government for consideration which include health and promotion. He also held review meetings of officers at DPO Poonch and DPL Rajouri where he discussed various issues related to law and order.
DGP advised the Policemen to behave politely with the people in general and complainants in particular. He said that JK Police has entered into MOU’s with JK Bank, LG electronics and SMVD Narayana Hospital, Katra to provide hassle free services and facilities to the Policemen.
