Ganderbal 12 June (KNZ): DMO Ganderbal have been showing reluctance to relieve a Mineral supervisor despite the fact Joint director Kashmir Geology and mining department had issued transfer order three months back.

Sources said that DMO Ganderbal has ignored the order, which gave him clear directions to relieve a mineral supervisor immediately who is posted in Ganderbal for more than 15-years.

An order copy of Joint director Kashmir Geology and mining department which lies with Kashmir News Zone reads, “In the interest of Administration and smooth functioning of Government Work, Mr. Mohammad Maqbool Rather, Mineral Supervisor presently deployed at District Mineral Office, Ganderbal is hereby deployed to the office of District Mineral Officer, Baramulla for further duties, with immediate effect”.

This order is already approved by Director, Geology & Mining Department, J&K, Jammu under reference and approval conveyed vide No.402/C- ADM/DGM/Dep-Ord/2022-23/1475 dated 02.03.2023.

Sources told KNZ News agency that DMO Ganderbal have totally disregarded and showed reluctance to the order and mineral supervisor who was ordered to be relieved have not been relieved yet.

It’s pertinent to mention here that, Under the 2010 government transfer policy, the minimum tenure of a government employee on a particular post should be two years which can be extended to a maximum of three years. However, some officials and employees in Ganderbal district have not been transferred for many year.

Sources also told KNZ News agency, that this mineral supervisor should have been relieved immediately after the order.

It’s believed that there has been role of influence which made the official disregard the order of the Joint Director Kashmir Geology Mining department and there might be some bureaucratic or political approach which is ignoring the transfer order and this order is stand in the office of Joint Director no cancellation order has been issued till date.

Sources also added these things are seriously effecting smooth functioning of Government work in UT Jammu & Kashmir.

When Kashmir New Zone-KNZ Contacted DMO Ganderbal Majid Aziz Bhat he said, I’m not authorised to talk to media you can talk to our Joint Director.

When this reporter Contacted Joint Director Geology and Mining Srinagar Nisar Ahmad, he said I’m attending a marriage function and can’t talk to you this time.(KNZ)
