Ganderbal, February 28, 2018:- District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla chaired a meeting of Rent Assessment Committee (RAC) here today and approved 15 cases of rent assessment pertaining to various departments.
During the meeting DDC held a detailed discussion with officers of different departments which are functioning from rented accommodations in the district and with the owners of these buildings.
After a detailed deliberation the committee approved all the rent assessment cases. The DDC directed the concerned to expedite the payment of rents as per the rates approved in the meeting.
Moreover in cases where the departments have already vacated the accommodations, it was decided that the concerned will pay clear the outstanding dues and get a No Demand Certificate from the owner.
Taking a serious note of cases wherein the offices are still functioning from rented accommodation in spite of the fact that government accommodations are made available, Dr. Singla directed the officers to rationalize and maximize the use of government buildings so that Government expenditure on rental front can be saved for developmental purposes.
Departments were directed to expedite the process of assessment of rent of long pending cases. Furthermore, DDC Ganderbal impressed upon the concerned to hold these meetings after every two months so that the owners of the building may not suffer.
ADC Ganderbal, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, ACR Ganderbal, N.A Malik, Chief Planning Officer Ganderbal, Abdul Salaam Magray, Superintendent Engineer R&B, Executive Engineer R&B, , District Officers from various departments, and owners of the buildings were also present in the meeting.
