Directs to make lifts functional at Mini-Secretariat, ensure ramps in all Govt Offices

BANDIPORA, MAY 29: District Development Commissioner Bandipora Ravinder Kumar Friday directed for ensuring the hassle-free movement of specially-abled persons at government offices including Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

He said this while meeting a delegation of District Handicap Association who called upon the Deputy Commissioner to welcome him for assuming charge as the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora.

DC Bandipora directed to make the lifts of all the blocks of mini-secretariat functional besides ensuring that all ramps present in every government buildings are technically checked and modified as per their requirement for the convenience of the specially-abled persons.

He also directed to shift the medical board from 3rd floor to ground floor at Mini-Secretariat for the convenience of the specially-abled persons while visiting the medical board.

While interacting with the members of the association, Deputy Commissioner said that he is akin to the problems faced by the specially-abled persons and assured that necessary measures shall be taken for social inclusion of all the disadvantaged sections of the society so that they don’t have to be dependent on others.

He interacted with the specially–abled persons and said that various state and centrally sponsored schemes are in place for the welfare of specially-abled persons and urged them to avail the benefit of these schemes.

He called for taking comprehensive measures for their complete integration into the social set up and assured that steps shall be taken to ensure their life is made easier and independent by providing various facilities.
