GANDERBAL, JANUARY 03: In an endeavor to take firsthand appraisal of the community issues, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today presided over a Block Diwas at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Manigam.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, Chief Planning Officer, Irfan Giri, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Bashir Ahmad, Tehsildar Lar and other officers from concerned line departments, public representatives and locals participated in the Block Diwas.

During the event, residents of block Lar raised several developmental concerns and grievances with the concerned officers. These issues include upgradation of Anderwan road, commissioning of Vocational Training Centre at Chountwaliwar, NOC for construction of boundary wall of Haripora School, development of playground alongside other pressing community issues.

Speaking during the occasion, the DC said that Block Diwas programmes serve as a vital link between the administration and people to directly gather insights into local concerns from the public, allowing for on-site assessments and facilitating a comprehensive and prompt resolution process. Besides, make people aware about the Government schemes so that they are able to avail their benefits meant for overall well-being of the general masses, he added.

Meanwhile, various departments like Agriculture, District Employment, Horticulture and others apprised the participants about the beneficiary oriented and self-employment schemes available and were urged to take benefit of such schemes as per eligibility which have been launched with the purpose to improve socio-economic condition of people.
