GANDERBAL, JUNE 30: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today said that audit of deceased persons due to Covid pandemic is completed in the district and the list of eligible dependents of Covid victims for financial assistance in the shape of scholarship/pension under Social Assistance Scheme for Covid Mortalities (SASCM)/SAKSHAM has been complied by the Social Welfare Department and under the scheme 5 scholarship and 6 pension cases are sanctioned so far and auditing of other cases is under process.
The DC said this during a routine press briefing to present an overall situation of the Covid-19 in the district, besides the Covid containment and mitigation measures employed so far in the district.
While elaborating on status of calls received in the district control room, the DC said that about 43000 calls have been received till date and appealed to the people to contact on district control room numbers for any assistance as the control rooms ensure the wellbeing and status of home isolation patients on daily basis.
Regarding Covid positivity in the district, the DC said that after conducting over 9000 tests in last week, the overall positivity is about 4.4 percent and recovery rate is upto 97 percent.
While urging people to get vaccinated at an earliest, the DC said that till date over one lakh Covishield doses are given and not a single case of post vaccine reaction/complication was reported except mild fever in certain cases and appealed to the people to come forward for vaccination as all 94 vaccination sites are active in the district.
Later, the DC handed over the sanction letters as financial assistance in the shape of scholarship in favour of 5 students (Rs 40000 each in favour of 2 students and 20000 each in favour of 3 students per annum) and monthly pension of Rs 10000 in favour of 6 widows which will be credited directly in their bank accounts.
