BUDGAM: 17th Nov : Continuing its efforts to rein in the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested 02 notorious drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
During naka checking at Batpora Kanihama police party of Police Station Magam intercepted 02 persons roaming in suspicious circumstances. During their search police party recovered 11 Bottles of controlled drug codeine phosphate based syrup & 190 tablets of controlled drug clonazepam from their possession without any prescription etc.
The drug peddlers were arrested on spot who were subsequently identified as:-
Abdul Majeed Pandith son of Ghulam Nabi Pandith resident of Batapora Kanihama and Nisar Ahmad wani son of Bashir Ahmad Wani resident of Roshanabad Mazhama.
Case FIR number 251/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Magam and investigation set into motion.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
