BANDIPORA, JULY 20: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmed on Tuesday reviewed the arrangements regarding ensuing Eid-ul-Adha.

The meeting was attended by SP Bandipora Rahul Malik, ADC Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, SDM Sumbal Dr Bashir Ahmad besides other Officers of concerned departments.

Chairing the meeting, DC Bandipora issued strict directions to all the sectoral officers to ensure that the SOPs regarding COVID19 are strictly followed including ensuring social distancing and hygiene besides ensuring availability of essential commodities, adequate quantity of sacrificial animals , establishment of Mandis for sale of sacrificial animals and regular market checking.

Dr Owais asked the concerned officers to ensure cleanliness around the markets and places specified for selling sacrificial animals besides ensuring that SOPs of COVID19 are followed strictly.

He also directed the officers of Legal Metrology, Revenue, Animal Husbandry and other concerned departments to conduct daily market checking in the district to ensure that the different laws of legal metrology are not violated and to keep check on exorbitant rates. He directed the officers to take strict action against black marketers , hoarders and erring shopkeepers who refuse to follow COVID SOPs issued by the government from time to time.

During the meeting DC Bandipora directed the engineers of PDD and Jal Shakti to ensure regular supply of electricity and water to the people during the Eid celebrations.
