Anantnag August 28 CNS :Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today visited District Jail and took a detailed review of facilities being offered to the inmates, here. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer besides other concerned officers.
Dy. SP Jail, Sayroz Ahmed briefed the DC about the facilities being provided to the inmates. Inside the jail complex, the visiting officer inspected the health centre, playground, parks and recently installed STD. He was informed that jail inmates use the STD facility for contacting their families and relatives.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the jail inmates who raised certain issues and demands. He also witnessed their sports activities during the visit.
Dr. Singla instructed for distribution of sports kits among inmates interested in sports activities. He also directed the concerned officers to repair the bore well immediately and make it functional.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the inmates that a full time health facility will be installed in the jail complex. Dr. Singla impressed upon the officers to ensure strict adherence to jail manual besides Covid Appropriate Behavior and asked the inmates to fully cooperate in this regard.
The inmates and jail authorities hailed the DC for the visit and expressed their gratitude to the visiting officer.(CNS)
