Total cases 124,234; death toll reaches to 1,931 deaths; recovery rate over 97 percent in UT

Srinagar, Jan 27 : Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday recorded one more death due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,931 in the Union Territory while as 77 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 124,234 in J&K.

Of the exact number of 124,234 cases, 72,747 are from Kashmir and 51,487 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 77 new cases, 59 belong to Kashmir division while as 18 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,747 including 70,862 recoveries and 1,212 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,487 including 50,391 recoveries and 719 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,050 including 673 from Kashmir division and 377 from Jammu division.

With 129 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 121,124 which is 97.52 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 23 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 04 from Budgam, 06 from Pulwama, 01 from Kupwara, 06 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 07 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 18 from Jammu division include 16 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours one person belonging to Kashmir division who was tested positive for COVID-19 has died.

As per officials figures, 26,100 positive cases including 454 deaths and 25,355 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,096 including 174 deaths and 7,883 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,758 including 7,592 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Budgam, 5,709 including 5,561 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,647 including 95 deaths and 5,515 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,887 including 4,751 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,687 cases including 4,604 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,605 including 4,492 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,692 including 2,609 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,566 including 2,497 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 24,925 including 24,320 recoveries and 370 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,197 including 4,116 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,867 including 3,807 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,428 including 3,361 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,254 including 3,199 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Kathua, 2,826 including 2,716 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,731 including 2,708 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,490 including 2,438 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,131 including 2,108 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,638 including 1,618 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,092,532 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,151 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,050 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 962,237 persons have completed surveillance period and 93,163 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,461,439 samples are available.

Out of 4,461,439 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,336,205 while as 124,234 have tested positive, among them 1,059 persons are active, 121,253 persons have recovered and 1,931 persons have died—(KNO)
