Srinagar 03 June (KNZ):Cluster University kashmir students today appealed higher authorities to relax 50% syllabus or mass promotion because of the lockdown.

The students of 6th semester of the university demanded mass promotion. they said due to COVID-19 increasing day by day and delayed examinations have increased their course syllabus in the final semester, how come it is possible to conduct exams when there is a threat of COVID-19.

University authorities on June 1st, 2020 passed orders for conducting exams of 6th semester,we don’t have any material due to ban on high speed internet in J&K and we are unable to download material from university website.

A student studing in SP College Srinagar told Kashmir News Zone-KNZ that the results of earlier semesters are also pending, as such they are unaware of their backlogs.

Students urged the University authorities to declare the results of earlier semesters and relax the syllabus, so that their career does not suffer.

They said If authorities can’t do that we have other demands like 50% reduction in syllabus Transport facility to students no Examination fees old paper pattern I.e; descriptive as in previous semesters.

We again appealed to Cluster University authorities to please look into the matter so that we don’t suffer anymore students said.

However recently Kashmir University announced mass promotion to the students and not hold the end-term examinations for the current and previous semester this academic year and promote students based on internal assessment due to the COVID-19 outbreak.KNZ
