Srinagar: In a changing trend in Kashmiri marriages, a video has gone viral on social media platforms, showcasing a unique and commendable initiative.

As per The Kashmir Despatch, a family in Kashmir has replaced the serving of sweets with the holy book of the Quran to welcome their guests.

This act has garnered widespread praise and appreciation both within Kashmir and across the country.

The video quickly gained popularity online and received positive feedback on various social media platforms.

By replacing almost 10 varieties of sweets with the Quran, this family has set a remarkable example. Their gesture serves as a reminder that, even in today’s era, there are individuals who prioritize meaningful acts over extravagant expenditures during special occasions like weddings.

This trend has been lauded by netizens on social media, and it highlights the need for similar initiatives to be encouraged and embraced.

Nazir Ahmad, a prayer leader in Kashmir, expressed his support for such endeavors in a conversation with this reporter, emphasizing that they not only contribute to societal growth but also provide relief to those who are unable to bear the financial burden associated with extravagant functions.

Ahmad further stated that simple marriages with meaningful messages have a positive impact on society, rather than becoming a burden for others.

He urged everyone to adopt and implement unique ideas like this one, promoting simplicity and valued actions in celebrations.

Last year, due to low rates in the market, Kashmiri apples were served in marriage; however, despite getting lots of praise, it didn’t take place and couldn’t continue.

However, the changing trends in various aspects of society, including weddings, often face challenges in making a lasting impact despite initial satisfaction.

Is society not reachable enough to implement such changes to relieve others, or does no one really want to do so on social media?
