GANDERAL, SEPTEMBER 06: With a purpose to redress the grievances of people living in far flung areas at their doorsteps, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today convened a mega grievance redressal camp at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Hariganwan as part of weekly Block Diwas programme.

The camp witnessed overwhelming participation of PRI members and prominent citizens of block Gund who highlighted the issues and demands pertaining to their areas including better health facilities, compensation to locals whose land is acquired in Sumbal Bala road, playground at High School Surfraw, macadamization of inner roads, staff deficiency in schools, fencing of GBHSS, completion of water filtration Plant Rayil and other issues of public importance.

The DC listened to all the issues raised by the locals and assured them that the demands raised would be taken with concerned departments for prompt redressal.

He gave necessary instructions to the officers for ensuring timely redressal of the genuine concerns of the locals and several issues were also redressed on spot.

While replying to grievances, the DC said that District Administration is committed to ensure all facilities are provided at the door steps of the people and several roads which were pending for many years have been completed under PMGSY. He maintained that PRIs are the integral part of the administration and urged them to make people aware about allotted funds and works proposed in their areas.

Meanwhile, the District Social Welfare Officer gave a detailed briefing about the purpose of celebrating Digital Week and Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K. He said that the aim of digital week is to ensure digital access and digital delivery of services to all which has greatly benefited the public and brought transparency in the working of public offices.

The event was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, SDM Kangan, BDO Gund besides other district and sectoral officers.
