Srinagar, Nov 21 (KS): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Doda have booked the owner of ill-fated, claiming lives of almost forty passengers, for ‘not following the procedures and traffic regulations’.
The ill-fated bus while on its way from Kishtwar towards Jammu met with an accident at Trungal Assar on 15.11.2023 in which (39) passengers died and (17) were injured.
“A case FIR No. 21/2023 U/S 279/337/304-A IPC was registered at Police Station Assar and investigation was taken up. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been constituted headed by DySP DAR Doda under the supervision of Addl. SP Hqrs. Doda for carrying out the investigation of the case on a day to day basis and to ascertain the cause of the accident,” reads a statement issued to Kashmir Scroll.
“During investigation, Police have booked the owner of this ill fated bus namely Dheeraj Gupta son of Kundan Lal Gupta resident of Narwal Pain Satwari Jammu for not properly following the procedures and traffic regulations being the owner of the bus”, reads the statement.
“Further, investigation is going on and all aspects of investigation are being examined by the SIT constituted to investigate the case”, reads the statement further. (KS)
