JAMMU, NOVEMBER 09: Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education Asiea Naqash today paid a surprise visit to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC) Bakshinagar and took stock of the healthcare services and availability of facilities for the patients.

During the visit, the Minister inspected the wards and units of the hospital and received detailed account about the availability of medicare    facilities, infrastructure, manpower, supply and stock of medicines, diagnostic equipments and provisions for sanitation.

She enquired from the hospital management about general patient care being provided in the hospital. .

While interacting with teams of doctors, the Minister exhorted upon them to give their best to the patients. She also received detailed information about the arrangements and the facilities available for treating dengue cases.She asked them to ensure proper sterilization of medical equipments

Stressing on maintaining cleanliness, the Minister directed the hospital staff to prioritize cleanliness in and around the hospital premises. She also inquired about the process of disposal of biomedical and other waste generated in the hospital.

The Minister called for further streamlining and updating the health services to cater to the increased rush of patients during winter season. She stressed upon strict adherence to the duty roaster,     punctuality and dress code.

Asiea also interacted with the patients and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. She urged the patients to avail benefits of various health schemes. She asked the concerned officers to spread mass awareness regarding health insurance and other welfare schemes launch by the government.
