Within minutes of the deadly Sopore IED attack, the security forces were seen carrying out intense checking of vehicles and frisking of people in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir.

In Srinagar, joint contingents of police and paramilitary forces erected mobile check posts and were carrying out random checking of vehicles at various places, including in uptown and civil line areas, besides city outskirts.

Besides carrying out frisking, bikers were being asked for documents and license. Police and paramilitary forces erected barricades and could be seen randomly checking vehicles, particularly from others districts, at various places at Sanat Nagar, Barzulla, Batamaloo besides city outskirts.

“We have beefed up security after Sopore attack,” a police officer said.
