Srinagar, May 08 (KS) : Police on Monday claimed to have arrested six drug peddlers and recovered Psychotropic substance from their possession in Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Scroll, a spokesperson said, during Naka checking at Ningli Bala Nambal, 06 drug peddlers were boarding in a santro car bearing registration number DL3CAB-3898. They were signaled to stop for checking but driver tried to flee, were chased and apprehended by police party.
During the search 888 capsules of SPASMOPROXYVON Plus were recovered and were arrested on spot and the car was also seized, the spokesman said.
He said the arrested persons were subsequently identified as Muhammad Ibrahim Sofi son of Muhammad Sultan resident of Aalibagh Hygam, Zubair Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat resident of Aalibagh Hygam, Tanveer Ahmad Sumji @Pintoo son of Farooq Ahmad Sumji resident of Sher Colony Sopore, Imran Manzoor Guroo son of Manzoor Ahmad Guroo resident of Khushal Colony Sopore, Arshad Rashid Wani son of Abdul Rashid Wani resident of Izzat Shah Colony Sopore and Shabir Ahmad Bhat son of Ali Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Amargarh Sopore.
In this regard, case FIR number 42/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo and investigation taken up, he added—(KS)
