Ganderbal:With an aim to encourage and build up the sporting spirit of children in the valley, 5 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (JAT) distributed sports kit to deserving local children of Anderwan, Chak-i-Dara and Dagarpura COBs
The ceremony for distribution of sports kit to students was org at respective COBs amid the presence of sarpanches, teachers, parents and other dignitaries of the area. The event witnessed participation of large number of children. The event focused on awarding the deserving but lesser privileged children.
Sports kit incl Football, Volleyball, Badminton and Cricket were provided to the young sportspersons. In addition, board games incl chess and carrom were also presented to young children with a humble background to inculcate a sense of positive competition.
Initiatives like these boost the morale and confidence of the children which will further enhance their horizon in the sporting arena as well as strengthen the bond between Army and Awam
