Ganderbal 20 Dec (KNZ):Transit accommodation work is going on in full swing at Wandhama area of Ganderbal District.

The work was started transit accommodation i n 2019 year but due to COVID work was halted and resumed on March 2020 but due to continued covid 19 restrictions work remained in slow pace.

As per the R&B officials 04 buildings are near completion out of 12 buildings and will be ready to use by the end of this month.

He further said that work on other blocks is in full swing and shall be completed within the set deadlines.

They said each block is four-storied with four flats in each storey, totaling 16 flats in each block.

The transit camp, spread over 30 kanals and is expected to provide accommodation for about 192 families.The cost of these buildings around 2304 lacs

According to reports the central government has provided jobs to around 4,500 Kashmiri pandits in the valley under a special package announced back in 2008.

However government has taken several concrete measures to ensure rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants in Kashmir valley

Locals and social activists from Ganderbal appreciated the efforts of LG Govt to rehabilitation of kashmiri pandits

Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir visited the site of Transit Camp Accommodation at Wandhama to have first-hand appraisal regarding the progress of works there.

He exhorted upon the executing agencies to expedite the progress of work by way of engaging more men and machinery so that work gets completed well before stipulated time frame without compromising the quality of work.KNZ
