Any person found indulging in illegal mining,will take strict action against him under law

Ganderbal 16 Dec (KNZ):District Mineral Officer Ganderbal (DMO) Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi and his team has seized 332 vehicles,3JCB’s and 1 dumper used in illegal mining and transportation of raw materials from different areas of Ganderbal district and recovered fine 50 lakh so far during raids from April 2021

DMO Ganderbal along with his team with the help of Ganderbal Police conducted raids in different areas of Ganderbal including Kangan,Gund,Kulan, Shadipora,Manigam,Arch, Gutlibagh and other parts of district to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials.

During this drive 1 dumper,3JCB’s and 332 tippers and tractors used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted were seized in Ganderbal and other areas of district and 50 lakh fine recovered so far, officials from Geology and mining department told Kashmir News Zone-KNZ.

“We are repeatedly saying that we will be acting tough against illegal mining, we are trying to discourage it, it was in this context that a drive has been launched in Ganderbal during which around 332 vehicles,3 JCB’s and 1 dumper have seized throughout the district,” DMO Ganderbal,told Kashmir News Zone-KNZ.

He advised consumers for purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal miners.

” We have seizing vehicles found involved in illegal transportation of minerals and registered FIRs too,” he said.KNZ
