Srinagar, Jan 31 : The tenth death anniversary of a teenager Wamiq Farooq, who was killed when a tear-smoke shell hit his head, was observed on Friday. The family on the occasion pledged to fight for justice till his last breathe.

According to the wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), family and relatives of Wamiq assembled in the graveyard and offered congregational prayers there.

Wamiq was killed on this day in 2010 when he was hit by a tear smoke shell at Rajouri Kadal, here in Old City.

However, unlike previous years, no separatist leader from any pro-freedom group visited the graveyard on this occasion due to their continuous incarceration.

Farooq Ahmad, father of slain Wamiq while talking to KNO said that only family members, relatives and some other people like father of slain Tufail Ahmad Mattoo participated in today’s congregational prayers.

Ahmad further pledged to continue the struggle till the action will be taken against the involved persons. (KNO)
