Srinagar, May 31 (KNO): Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammed Aijaz Asad Monday called for strict adherence to the Covid-19 SOPs despite declaring Srinagar as Orange Zone to contain the spread of Covid-19 infection in the district.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) said this in a media briefing here on Monday. He said the district Administration is working very hard in fighting Covid-19 pandemic and people of the district have extended their cooperation due to which visible decline has been witnessed during the past few days.

DC said ease in restrictions from today does not mean to violate Covid-19 SOPs but we have to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour with more responsibility to make entry into the Green Zone. He said it is a minimal Unlock and as many as 96 Containment Zones shall continue to be under Corona Lockdown in Srinagar.

DC said any Laxness on Covid SOPs means incurring heavier losses. He urged the left out population of Srinagar to get vaccinated as soon as possible to break the chain of corona virus.

With regard to opening of markets, the DC said with decline in covid positivity rate guidelines have been issued as per the directions of the State Executive Council and people particularly all business establishments/operators must follow the same to contain the spread of Covid-19 infection—(KNO)
