GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today convened a Grievance Redressal Camp at Government Degree College Kangan for block Kangan as part of weekly Block Diwas programme.

The camp was attended by DDC member block Kangan, BDC Chairperson Kangan, Sarpanchs, Panchs and locals of block Kangan who apprised the DC about various issues pertaining to their areas and sought his intervention for timely redressal of the grievances.

On the occasion, the locals and PRI members raised various demands and issues like upgradation of water and power infrastructure, community hall at Chattergul, health centre at Poshkar, timely completion of Akhal bridge, development of road from Preng to Ganiwan, staff dearth at PHC Chattergul, sanitation measures in Kangan market and other issues of public importance.

The DC gave a patient hearing to all issues and grievances raised and assured timely redressal of genuine issues.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the District Administration is ensuring timely redressal of the genuine demands and a proper mechanism is adopted to ensure transparency and accountability at all levels and assured that all issues raised shall be redressed in time bound manner.

While replying the issue of sanitation in Kangan market, the DC maintained that district administration has chalked out a proper plan for sanitation in rural areas including Kangan Market and sought cooperation of locals for keeping their soundings free from garbage.

Meanwhile, during the Block Diwas proceedings, LDM Ganderbal gave a brief about the digital banking services and made people aware about Digital frauds. Similarly, District Animal Husbandry Officer also generated awareness regarding the Skin Lumpy Diseases in Cattle and briefed the participants its symptoms, precautions and remedial measures against the disease.

Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, CPO, Irfan Ahmad Giri, SDM Kangan, Javaid Ahmad Rather, CMO, Tehsildar Kangan and other District and Sectoral Officers attended the Block Diwas.
