Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Wednesday said the recent report released by the United Nations’ on the alleged human rights violations in Kashmir was ‘misleading’ and ‘motivated’.

Speaking to reporters, General Rawat said some of the human rights reports are motivated in nature.

“I don’t think we should get too concerned with these reports. Some of these reports [by human rights organisation] are motivated,” General Rawat said.

Speaking about the Army’s record of honouring human rights, he said the army is clean on this front. “I don’t think we need to speak about the human rights record of the Indian Army. It is well known to the people of Kashmir and the international community,” he said.
